VIENTIANE, July 12 (Xinhua) -- An electrical fault has been blamed after fire extensively damaged a heritage-listed two-storey house in Luang Prabang's UNESCO World Heritage Listed old town in Laos, local media reported Tuesday.

The blaze which reportedly began at 8 a.m. local time (0100 GMT) Monday was prolonged by poor access to the site as a result of narrow roads, Fire Prevention and Protection Department acting director Major Chanphaeng Singphonxay said.

No one was killed or injured in the blaze that caused damages estimated to be the equivalent of tens of thousands of dollars.
