LONDON, July 7 (Xinhua) -- British Justice Secretary Michael Gove has been eliminated from the Conservative Party leadership ballot, leaving Home Secretary Theresa May opposing the Energy Minister Andrea Leadsom, according to results of the voting Thursday by Conservative members of the Parliament.

After the second ballot by members of Parliament, May finished with 199 votes, Andrea Leadsom 84 and Michael Gove 46.

Conservative members will now decide the winning candidate, with the result due on Sept. 9. The winner will become the British second ever female prime minister after Margaret Thatcher. Enditem
