HO CHI MINH CITY, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam is likely to spend 5,700 billion Vietnamese dong (253.3 million U.S. dollars) in building a bridge linking Ho Chi Minh City with southern Dong Nai province, the municipal authorities said on Wednesday.
The 3.4-km bridge with at least four lanes will meet increasing demand for transport, especially container transport, and help shorten travel time and reduce traffic congestion.
It will also replace the existing ferry route linking Ho Chi Minh City's District 2 and Dong Nai's Nhon Trach District.
At present, over 45,000 vehicles use the ferry service everyday.
