AMMAN, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Sunday condemned terrorist bombings that hit the Iraqi capital Baghdad, killing more than 80 people, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said the terrorist bombings by the Islamic State in many countries seek to spread chaos and fear and shed the blood of innocent civilians.
The Iraqis, he said, are required to take more efforts to face the threat by terrorist organizations.
He also voiced support for the Iraqi government and Iraqis in the face of terrorism.
Two suicide car bomb attacks at two crowded commercial areas in the Iraqi capital killed 84 people and wounded more than 130 others early on Sunday, officials said.
One attack occurred in Karrada-Dakhil district when a suicide bomber detonated his car bomb at a crowded thoroughfare in south central Baghdad.
The powerful blast set fire to several nearby shops and destroyed many stalls and civilian cars at the scene, which was crowded with shoppers who were preparing their families for Eidul-Fitr. Enditem
