ANKARA, July 1 (Xinhua) -- A training aircraft crashed on the runway in Ayvalik district of western Turkish province of Balikesir on Friday, leaving two people killed, Dogan News Agency reported.
The accident occurred at 19:30 local time (GMT 1630) when the flight training was going on.
The TC-ARF model airplane crashed on the runway and killed a pilot and a student in it.
Balikesir Metropolitan Fire crews arrived at the scene and extinguished the burning plane, which turned into wreckage later.
Local police has launched the investigation into the accident. Enditem
