International flights affected due to torrential rainfalls in Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Incoming and outbound international flights have been affected in Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport due to incessant rainfalls since the Friday morning.

The flights were affected due to poor visibility on the runway at Nepal's only international airport, officials said.

An Air Arabia flight bound to Kathmandu was diverted to Lucknow of India after it failed to land at the Kathmandu Airport. Earlier in the afternoon, Air China flight coming from Guangzhou to Kathmandu was diverted to Lhasa.

Meanwhile, a domestic airport in Pokhara City of Nepal has been also affected due to the torrential rail since Friday morning, local media reported .

As many as 27 international carriers belonging to India, China, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China's Hong Kong operate around 80 international flights in Kathmandu daily.
