ANKARA, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Turkey declared on Wednesday a day of national mourning over the deadly Istanbul airport attack.

Turkish national flags will be flown at half-mast across the country and in foreign representative buildings on Wednesday, the Turkish cabinet said in a statement.

At least 41 people were killed and more than 140 others injured in explosions that hit Ataturk Airport on Tuesday.

The security situation in Turkey has deteriorated over the past year.

The capital city of Ankara, the most populous city of Istanbul and some other ones have been hit by a number of bombing attacks.
