(Sports) Pakistani girls to feature in Junior Asian Netball Championship in South Korea

ISLAMABAD, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani girls' team will feature in the Under-20 Junior Asian Girls Netball Championship in April next year in South Korea, officials said on Tuesday.

President of the Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF), Mudassar Arain, said on Tuesday that as many as 12 girls from Pakistan would participate in the Asian Championship in Seoul.

"To select the 12 girls, the PNF will hold a four-day junior national girls netball championship in September this year in capital city of Islamabad," said Arain.

According to the official, girls from across the country would be given opportunity to participate in the national championship and 20 girls with outstanding performance at their credit will be considered for selection.

Later, the camp would be set up for 20 girls where an Australian Coach would impart them two-month training and will help the PNF select the final 12 players.

As many as 16 Asian teams including Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and others will participate in the Asian Championship in South Korea. Enditem
