China willing to see improving Russia-Turkey ties

BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said Tuesday that China is willing to see Russia and Turkey improve their relations.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent his apologies to Russian President Vladimir Putin after the death of a Russian Su-24 bomber pilot downed by Ankara in November last year, voicing readiness to mend ties, the Kremlin said Monday.

Earlier this month, Erdogan sent a letter to Putin, reiterating his wish to restore relations with Russia.
