MOSCOW, June 28 (Xinhua) -- The Russian economy contracted 1 percent year on year in the first five months of 2016, the Ministry of Economic Development said Tuesday.
In May 2016, it shrank 0.8 percent year on year and 0.1 percent month on month, said the ministry.
It predicted a contraction of 0.2 percent for the whole year of 2016.
