BUCHAREST, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Han Qide, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) met with Romanian Senate President Calin Popescu-Tariceanu here on Tuesday to discuss ways to further enhance the bilateral ties and cooperation through the china-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
"There is a real potential for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of infrastructure, transport, telecommunications and energy," said Han, who is also president of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD).
For his part, Tariceanu expressed appreciation about the Belt and Road Initiative, stressing it will boost not only China's development but also that of other countries in Asia and Europe.
Han arrived in Bucharest on Monday, at the invitation of the Senate of Romania's Parliament.
