EgyptAir temporarily compensates families of MS804 flight victims with $25,000 each

CAIRO, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's national airline carrier, EgyptAir, said on Monday it has reached an agreement with insurance companies to give each family of the MS804 flight victims 25,000 U.S. dollars in temporary compensation, state-run Ahram Online reported.

The "temporary" compensation is until the full amount is calculated once a settlement with insurance companies is reached according to international insurance standards, Ahram quoted EgyptAir holding company Chairman and CEO Safwat Mosallam as saying.

EgyptAir flight MS804 crashed into the Mediterranean Sea on May 19, killing all 66 passengers and crew onboard.

The flight's two black boxes were retrieved several days ago from the sea, and authorities are still trying to establish the cause of the crash.

CAIRO, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's national airline carrier, EgyptAir, said on Monday it has reached an agreement with insurance companies to give each family of the MS804 flight victims 25,000 U.S. dollars in temporary compensation, state-run Ahram Online reported.
