HANOI, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Child representatives from ASEAN countries discussed and raised their voice on various issues of concern at the 4th ASEAN Children's Forum which opened in Hanoi on Monday.
Under the theme of "One ASEAN, One Vision for Children," the forum drew participation of government officials as well as children representatives aging from 12 to 18 in ASEAN countries, said the website of Vietnam's Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
During the four-day forum, ASEAN child representatives will discuss and raise their voice on four main issues - prevention and countering children trafficking in ASEAN, child protection in the cyber environment, prevention of violence against children, and ASEAN children facing climate change.
The forum is aimed at building a joint statement by ASEAN children with recommendations which will be sent to ASEAN ministers of development and social affairs.
ASEAN Children's Forum is held in every two years since 2010, with a pledge on right protection and social welfare promotion of children.
