CHENGDU, China, June 15 (Xinhua) -- China's U-19 soccer team managed to draw 0-0 with the Czech Republic in the Panda Cup youth tournament here on Wednesday.
The Czechs launched waves of attacks in the first-half but were not able to materialize. China stepped up its pace after the interval and created several chances, which drew constant applause from the spectators.
"I think we effectively lost two points. We squandered several good chances because some of us run out of energy as the match dragged on," Czech head coach Martin Svedik said after the match.
His Chinese counterpart, Li Ming, seemed delighted about his team's performance. "We made adjustment after the first half and began to gain more control of the game after some substitutes joined the fray," said Li.
Earlier in the day, Japan's U-19 team crushed Croatia 5-0 in the opener of the four-team tournament. Enditem
