RABAT, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan Interior Ministry announced Saturday the country has seen a growing threat from the IS. Moroccan police have arrested six people linked to IS group.

Last week, the director of Morocco's Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation, Abdelhak El Khayam, revealed that Morocco has busted 29 terrorist cells that planned attacks against the North African kingdom in one year.

The Moroccan police on Saturday arrested a new supporter of the Islamic State (IS).

The arrested, who was active in the city of Meknes, 150 km east of Rabat, was planning to carry out terrorist attacks in the kingdom or in a European country, Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The investigations have shown the total adherence of this man to the terrorist strategy of this extremist organization, adding that he acquired expertise in manufacturing explosive devices, and was training in a mountainous region in order to develop his fighting skills.

The terror suspect will be brought before justice after the end of the investigation led by the prosecutor's office, the statement said.
