NEW DELHI, April 26 (Xinhua) -- India and Pakistan Tuesday held here their foreign secretary-level talks, after a delay triggered by an attack upon an Indian airbase early this year near the Indian Pakistan border which New Delhi said was launched by Pakistan-based militants.

Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar were meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry in South Block, Indian external affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup tweeted.

The talks, earlier scheduled for the middle of January this year, got stalled following the cross-border attack on the Pathankot air base on Jan. 2 in which seven Indian security personnel were killed.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a stopover last December in Lahore, Pakistan, during which he met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
