LONDON, April 24 (Xinhua) -- When U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle arrived at the Kensington Palace on Friday evening, two-year-old Prince George stood near the foyer, waiting to greet his parent's dinner guests.
Wearing a white and blue trimmed gingham bathrobe and pajamas, the royal toddler was allowed to stay up 15 minutes past his bedtime to meet the couple.
In several photos tweeted out from the Kensington Palace Twitter account, Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is shaking hands with Obama, and playing on his rocking horse that the U.S president gave him when he was born.

It was raining when Obama and the first lady arrived at the palace in central London, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry greeted their guests outside in the courtyard. Video clips posted on the account shows that the group exchanged greetings and chatted for a minute. They also posed for a photo before heading inside.
Prince George's younger sister, Princess Charlotte, clearly did not share his excitement about meeting the president.
As a part of Obama's three-day trip to Britain, Friday's personal meeting lasted more than two hours. During the trip, Obama also met with British Prime Minister David Cameron and commemorated Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday at Windsor Castle.
