HELSINKI, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- A long haul passenger train and a limousine collided on a railroad crossing in western Finland on Saturday, and two people in the car died of serious injuries.

As a result, the railroad connection between the cities of Tampere and Pori was first closed and then partially replaced with bus transportation until late afternoon.

The railroad and road crossing at Kokemaki had no automated alert or barriers.

While high speed segments of the Finnish railroad system have no such road crossings, tracks with trains operating at slower speeds still have. The site of this accident has a speed limit of 140 km per hour for trains.
