KATHMANDU, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Newly-elected President Bidhya Devi Bhandari was sworn in on Thursday as the first female president of Nepal.
Here at presidential palace, President Bhandari took the oath, administered by Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha.
Bhandari was elected to the post on Wednesday after she clinched an over-whelming victory in the presidential election defeating Nepali Congress candidate Kul Bahadur Gurung.
