WUZHISHAN, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Andrey Zeits from ASTANA PRO TEAM (AST) became the first rider to cross the finishing line at the 8th stage with a time of 5 hours 15 minutes and 43 seconds.

The 204.8 kilometers 8th stage from Dongfang to Wuzhishan, which is also the queen stage of the event this year, stretched from Dongfang to Wuzhishan, includes three intermediate sprints and three climbs.

Zeits, winner of this stage also obtained the blue jersey representing best Asian rider, while Sacha Modolo from LAMPRE - MERIDA (LAM) is still wearing the yellow and green jersey as the best rider and sprinter.

Julien EL FARES from TEAM MARSEILLE - 13 - KTM (M13) still keeps the polka-dot jersey as the best climber.

Zeits said, "This is my first win in eight years of my career, so I am very happy today. Thanks to the great work of my teammates from the beginning of the race, I could stay in peloton and make it possible to win."

This year' s Tour of Hainan will last 9 days, and the next stage and final stage is scheduled on Wednesday, featuring a stretched race from Wuzhishan to Wanning with a total distance of 119 kilometers.
