DHAKA, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Six persons including four from one family were killed when a train ploughed through an auto-rickshaw on a level-crossing in Bangladesh's Jamalpur district, some 179 km north of capital Dhaka, on Monday.
The district's senior police official Monirul Islam told Xinhua over mobile phone that "the commuter train rammed the three-wheeler on the unmanned level-crossing at about 2:00 p.m. (local time), killing the six people including five women on the spot."
The railway authorities formed an inquiry committee to probe into the accident.
There are many unmanned level crossing along the Bangladesh Railway across the country, where most tracks of the railway are in a dilapidated condition, which often cause accidents.
