ANKARA, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Two policemen and four militants were killed early Monday in a raid against Islamic State (IS) militants in southern Turkey, the private Dogan News Agency reported.

The two police officers were wounded in an exchange of fire in the raid on a house allegedly belonging to the IS group in the town of Kayapinar in Diyarbakir province, and died in hospital, the report said. Four IS militants were killed in the raid.

Following the two suspected IS suicide bombings in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Oct. 10, which killed 102 people, Turkish security officials launched several operations and detained several IS militants in the country.

Addressing a peace rally after the twin blasts, which marked the deadliest terror attack in the Turkish history, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the IS was the focal point in the investigation on the deadly bombings.
