DUBAI, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Business manager of German national football team said Tuesday that the technology of big data is helpful for sports team when improving team performance.
Oliver Bierhoff made the remarks at the ongoing GITEX Technology Week, the biggest informational and Communication Technology (ICT) fair in the Middle East.
Speaking at a media conference, Bierhoff said the software technology played an integral part in developing and improving the team skills as a whole, which helps Germany win the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
"The big data which exceeds existing storage capacities and the knowledge of data discoveries are a major future trend in sports," added Bierhoff.
The German team's example has triggered many teams to copy their methods and integrate software technology into the planning process of the team.
The 35th edition of the GITEX Technology Week which hosts 3,700 ICT firms from 62 countries concludes on Oct. 22 in Dubai.
