English.news.cn   2015-10-20 21:52:35

SHANGHAI, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Yum Brands, the owner of KFC and Pizza Hut, said on Tuesday that it planned to separate the China arm of its business, which accounts for 57 percent of the company's revenue.

The China business would become an independent publicly-traded company, Yum Brands said.

Yum Brands said the independent China business would continue expanding its presence.

The company currently has more than 40,000 restaurants globally and the annual revenue from markets outside China stands at 6.3 billion U.S. dollars.

At least 95 percent of the restaurants would be operated as franchisees, the company said.
