RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Twelve of 16 venues at Rio's two largest Olympic sports precincts are more than 90 percent complete, organizers said on Monday.
Barra Olympic Park - the biggest event cluster - is 92% ready, up from 89% last month, according to Rio2016.com.
The most advanced venues at Barra are Carioca 3 Arena and the International Broadcast Centre (both 97%). The least advance is the velodrome, where work has reached 70%.
Two venues at Deodoro Park - the mountain bike and BMX courses - are already finished. Meanwhile Whitewater Stadium is 98% complete and Youth Arena 68% finished. Deodoro is the second-largest venue complex.
Work on the Olympic and Paralympic village is 97% complete while the golf course is 98% ready.
