SHENYANG, China, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Lester Hudson, a former NBA shooting guard who was awarded MVP by the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) in 2014 and 2015, has returned to the Liaoning Flying Leopards, the runners-up of last CBA season, from L.A. Clippers for a league title in his career.

"I hope to carry Liaoning to the top podium, and I promise you will see a stronger Hudson in the new season," Hudson, who is hailed by Liaoning fans as a hero, told reporters here on Tuesday.

As the most important player of Liaoning, Hudson appeared in 50 games last season, averaging 31.2 points, 6.9 assists, and 3.1 steals in 40.54 minutes. With the perfect stats, Hudson signed a multi-year deal with the L.A. Clippers in April this year.

However, the 30-year-old Memphis native became a complete benchwarmer in Rivers' plan. His MPG reduced to 11.2 minutes in five regular season games and 5.4 minutes in seven Playoff games.

Waived by the Clippers in July, Hudson decided to reutrn to Liaoning which was still in his heart. He signed a new three-year contract with the CBA runners-up in September.

"Liaoning is a really good team. Everybody is working hard. And I feel in a better situation than last year," the three-time CBA All-Star player said. "I wish to win the champion next year."
