BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's national rugby coach Daniel Hourcade on Monday showed his confidence that his team could beat Australia on Oct. 25 in the Rugby World Cup semifinals hosted by the United Kingdom.
However, Hourcade told local radio station "Vorterix" in Buenos Aires that the South American team, known as the Pumas, still are not at "the same level" as the Wallabies from Australia.
"We can win but we are aware that we are not up to the same level as them. We are on the way but we are still lacking," the coach said.
The national players need to know they are capable of winning because "they have always had this plus when they draw strength from nowhere and play memorable matches," said Hourcade.
The coach called the Australian side "fantastic" and one of the best rugby teams in the world.
The Pumas hammered Ireland 43-20 on Sunday while the Wallabies edged Scotland 35-34 a few hours later.
The other Rugby World Cup semi-final is between New Zealand's All Blacks and South Africa's Springboks on Oct. 24. Both matches will be played at Twickenham Stadium, London.
