BEIRUT, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Four Syrian refugees were killed and 10 others injured Monday after a blast ripped through a refugee camp in the eastern Lebanese border region of Arsal, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The report said the explosion was heard in the region of Wadi Hmayed in Arsal, without elaborating the cause of the explosion.
More than 100,000 Syrian refugees are living in Arsal and its neighborhoods where random camps have been erected.
On the outskirts of Arsal, Islamic fundamentalists from the Islamic State (IS) and al-Nusra Front are also entrenched in the border area.
In August 2014, the IS and al-Nusra Front militants briefly overran the town and were engaged in a fierce battle with the Lebanese army.
Before withdrawing to Syria, the militants kidnapped some 35 Lebanese soldiers and policemen. The al-Nusra later executed four of them while the IS beheaded another one.
