BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- A campaign against the illegal production and trade of sodium hyaluronate injections, used in plastic surgery to reduce wrinkles on the face.
The five departments involved include China Food and Drug Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
Illegal sodium hyaluronate injections occur in plastic surgery institutions and beauty salons, and customers have been deceived into injecting sodium hyaluronic which is not certified.
The campaign will focus on major cases to expose illicit institutions and encourage society to complain and report.
