Vietnam beats Japan, S.Korea to top judo tournament in HCM City

HO CHI MINH CITY, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Host Vietnam ranked first at the 2015 Ho Chi Minh City Judo Championship, which concluded here Sunday evening, after grabbing six gold medals.

The six gold medalists are Bui Minh Quan, Ha Anh Thu, Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Thi Nhu Y, Huynh Nhat Thong and Le Tien Thanh.

Bagging home four gold medals, Japan finished second at the two-day judo tournament. South Korea ranked the third after winning three gold medals.

In the category designated for blind athletes for the first time, South Korea ranked the first with three gold medals, followed by China's Hong Kong and India with one gold each.

The tournament attracted 159 athletes from 11 countries and regions.
