English.news.cn   2015-10-18 09:54:00

LONDON, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Manchester United posted an impressive 3-0 win over Everton while city rivals Manchester City hammered Bournemouth 5-1 in Saturday's Premier League matches.

Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney scored for United at Goodison Park, putting the 3-0 defeat against Arsenal two weeks ago behind their backs.

Raheem Sterling's hat-trick helped Manchester City stay atop the Premier League and Wilfried Bony added two goals.

Sterling completed his hat-trick before half-time and Bony scored each side of the break to give City 11 goals in the past two games.

City stand on top of the standings with 21 points, two points clear of United and Arsenal who clinched an away win over Watford 3-0.

Chelsea also bagged three points as Diego Costa, returning from a three-match ban for violent conduct, put the Premier League champions ahead against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, before defender Alan Hutton scored an own goal in Chelsea's 2-0 win.

Earlier Saturday, Juergen Klopp's first Liverpool match ended 0-0 against Tottenham.

Elsewhere, Southampton squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home with Leicester, Sunderland lost 1-0 at West Brom in Sam Allardyce's first game in charge of the Black Cats and Crystal Palace were beaten 3-1 by West Ham.
