RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Spartak Moscow are set to sign teenage Brazilian striker Clayton in Russian football's winter transfer window, local media reported Saturday.
Spartak representative Dmitriy Popov is currently in Brazil and watched the 19-year-old score twice in Figueirense's 3-0 win over Flamengo in Brazil's Serie A championship on Wednesday, Sambafoot reported.
Spartak are said to have outbid a host of other European clubs for the Brazil U-23 international.
Clayton has collected five goals from six Serie A matches this season and was the second-top scorer at this year's Pan American Games in Toronto with four goals.
Russia's month-long winter transfer window begins in late January.
