BEIJING,Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- During Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Britain, England's northern city Manchester will be a key stop where he will dine with British Prime Minister David Cameron and visit the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City.

Xi never conceals his love for football. He was given a No. 10 jersey of the Argentina national football team last year. And one of China's most distinguished footballers, Sun Jihai, spent six years in City's sky blue colors.

However, football is not all the Chinese leader wants to see in Manchester. As an important industrial city, Manchester has extensive business relations with China. A high speed railroad project which a Chinese train maker is bidding will connect Manchester and Leeds.

Moreover, Xi will also visit Manchester University, one of the Britain's leading facilities in scientific research.
