GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Unknown armed men abducted six travelers, all civilians in the eastern Ghazni province with Ghazni city as its capital 125 km south of Kabul on Friday, head of Ghazni's provincial council said Saturday.
"Unidentified armed men intercepted a passenger bus in Dalan desert of Gilan district Friday evening and abducted six people including two women and took them to unknown location," Khaliqdad Akbari told Xinhua.
He also pointed finger at the Taliban militants for the kidnapping, saying Taliban insurgents are behind the abduction.
The armed outfit, which has been fighting the government to regain power, has yet to make comment.
