BRUSSELS, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The European Commission announced on Friday that it would launch the second phase of the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA+) in Brussels on Oct. 29, ahead of Paris climate talks.
The GCCA+ is the principal means of the European Union (EU) to deliver climate-related support to developing countries, a partnership of EU countries and developing countries most vulnerable to climate change, coordinated by the European Commission, according to a Commission statement.
"The event is very timely since in December 2015, global leaders from around the world will gather in Paris to reach an agreement tackling one of the most pressing issues of the 21st century," said the statement.
