SINGAPORE, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 15.47 points, or 0.51 percent, to close at 3,030.61.
A total of 1.81 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.08 billion Singapore dollars (779.5 million U.S. dollars).
Gainers outnumbered decliners 261 to 170, while 502 others finished unchanged.
The STI index gained 31.22 points, or 1.05 percent, to close at 3,015.14 on Thursday.
