HONG KONG, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's share prices closed higher Friday with the weighted index up 3.43 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 8,604.95, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
Turnover totaled 94.04 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.9 billion U.S. dollars).
