ODENSE, Denmark, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese mixed doubles defending champions Zhao Yunlei and Zhang Nan suffered an early exit after losing to South Korean pair in straight sets in the second round of Yonex Denmark Open in central Denmark's Odense, on Thursday.

South Korean duo Shin Baek Cheol and Chae Yoo Jung, who lost to Zhao/Zhang at the Korea Open, produced a huge upset by beating the defending champions 22-20, 21-18 in 46 minutes.

The South Koreans will meet home favorites Christinna Pedersen and Joachim Fischer in Friday's quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Japanese Minatsu Mitani has shocked women's single top seed Saina Nehwal of India with a 2-0 win. She is going to face No.7 seed Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea on Friday.

In the men's singles, Chinese unseeded Wei Nan beat former world number one, Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei, who entered the tournament unseeded after returning from an eight-month doping ban, in two straight sets 21-18, 21-19.

Lin Dan of China also beat Hu Yun from China's Hong Kong 2-1 to secure a spot in quarter-finals.

China's unseeded men's doubles Liu Cheng and Lu Kai defeated Indonesia's world No. 2 duo Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan 25-23, 23-21 to book a berth in the top eight.
