BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- China's Minister of Culture Luo Shugang on Thursday urged artists to create their works based on lives of ordinary people when he met with dozens of artists and heads of national art troupes.
Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed authors, actors, script writers and dancers at a symposium in Beijing on Oct. 15 last year.
In the speech, Xi called on artists to create more works that are both artistically outstanding and morally inspiring, in order to serve the people and socialism and to present socialist core values.
Upon the first anniversary of the symposium, Luo urged Chinese artists to implement all the requirements on developing socialist literature and art, asks national art troupes to play an exemplary role in art creation and to deeply explore lives of people.
The minister urged art troupes to improve managerial mechanism with art creation as the core of their work, so as to realize both social and economic benefits.
