BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday provided a fresh batch of humanitarian aid to neighboring Nepal, which was struck by a devastating earthquake in April.
The latest material was delivered via the border port of Jilung, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a daily press briefing Thursday afternoon.
Jilung in Tibet Autonomous Region reopened only this week after months of repairs to roads.
About 130 km away from Nepalese capital Kathmandu, Jilung used to be the largest border crossing between the two countries, but gradually lost its status due to weak infrastructure. At the end of last year, the port was expanded to boost trade and tourism.
