REYKJAVIK, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Iceland's fish catch decreased by 6.7 percent year-on-year in September 2015, according to figures issued on Thursday by Statistics Iceland.
The total fish caught in September amounted to 92,612 tonnes, including 36,324 tonnes of demersal catch and 53,486 tonnes of pelagic catch, and some shellfish, figures showed.
The total volume in September this year decreased by 6,624 tonnes of fish compared with that of September last year.
The total fish caught in the period between October 2014 and September 2015 was 1,333,147 tonnes, an increase of 24.9 percent compared with 1,067,687 tonnes of fish caught in the previous 12-month period.
