TOKYO, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares erased morning's losses and rebounded sharply higher by ending the trading Thursday on bargain hunting after recent dives and gains in Asian markets.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 205.90 points, or 1.15 percent, higher from Wednesday to 18,096.90.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 19.89 points, or 1.35 percent, to 1,490.72.
Gainers were led by rubber products, pharmaceuticals and services.
The turnover was about 2,176.3 billion yen (about 18.33 billion U.S. dollars).
