HONG KONG, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's share prices closed higher Thursday with the weighted index up 79.01 points, or 0.92 percent, to close at 8,601.52, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
Turnover totaled 91.56 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.83 billion U.S. dollars).
