SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Three militants were killed in two separate gunfights in Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said on Thursday.
Two militants were killed Thursday morning in a gunfight in Doda district, 269 km south of Srinagar city, summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
"The militants were spotted in Gadi Nallah area, who after being challenged opened fire on security forces," a police official said.
"After a few hours of gun battle, both the militants were killed in the wee hours today."
The operation to track down militants according to police was carried out on an intelligence input suggesting presence of militants.
