BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks opened lower on Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edging down 0.23 percent to open at 3,255.03 points.
The smaller Shenzhen index opened 0.36 percent lower at 10,862.11 points. The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.19 percent lower at 2,300.62 points.
