Top political advisor calls on non-CPC parties to target pratical problems

BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Wednesday called on non-communist parties to target pratical problems and pool political consensus in an on-going educational campaign on socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Addressing a meeting promoting the campaign, Yu said that the campaign, which was initiated two years ago, has consolidated the political foundation for the country's multi-party cooperation system and help non-communist parties to better participate in state affairs.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, called on members of non-communist parties and people with no political affilication to enhance political consensus, innovate and solve pratical problems.

He also encounraged them to foster and practice socialist core value and try to unleash "positive energy" gathered during the campaign.

Yu asked united front work departments to perform their duties to better serve and coordinate work for non-communist parties.

China has eight non-communist political parties that participate in state affairs under the leadership of the CPC. Under the multi-party cooperation system, the CPC and non-communist parties work together and supervise each other.
