HONG KONG, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's share prices closed lower Wednesday with the weighted index down 45.41 points, or 0.53 percent, to close at 8,522.51, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
Turnover totaled 80.46 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.47 billion U.S. dollars).
