Top legislator meets Macao's law makers

BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang on Tuesday urged Macao's law makers to continue to contribute to "one country, two systems."

Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), made the remarks at a meeting with a delegation headed by Ho Iat Seng, president of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR)'s Legislative Assembly.

Zhang listened to a report and expressed his recognition of the work of the assembly.

The Macao SAR's law-making body has played an important role in implementing the "one country, two systems" principle and the Basic Law as well as in ensuring the effective operation of the SAR's administrative system, he said.

Zhang expressed his hope that the SAR's law makers can fulfil their duties, unite people from all circles, and pool positive energy so as to support the chief executive and SAR government to govern in accordance with the law and create a new prospect for the undertaking of "one country, two systems."

BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang on Tuesday urged Macao's law makers to continue to contribute to "one country, two systems."
