China increases aid to Dominica

BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- China will provide another 200,000 U.S. dollars of emergency aid for Dominica, struck by tropical storm Erika.

The aid will help local recovery and reconstruction, according to the notice released by China's Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday.

China announced emergency aid of 300,000 U.S. dollars for Dominica on August 29. The Caribbean country was hit by Erika between August 26 and 27.

Erika killed at least 31 people, with 20 more missing, and caused flooding and landslides in Dominica.
