JAKARTA, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government strongly condemns an Israeli air attack on the Gaza Strip on Sunday that wounded and killed scores of civilians, Indonesian foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.
"Indonesia condemns the strikes and calls for the cessation of Israeli military offensive on Gaza Strip," said the statement.
The hike of incidents in recent days in the area is concerned to be able to escalate the instability at the region especially at the East Jerusalem and West Bank.
The Indonesian government calls on all Indonesian nationals residing near the Gaza Strip to keep vigilant and build contact with Indonesian embassies in Jordan and Egypt.
Israeli military launched an air strike on the Gaza Strip on Sunday with target of two weapon plants estimated to be owned by Hamas group.
